Washing - how to preserve velvet and lace

Hand washing recommended

Hand washing at a maximum of 30 °C is the gentlest option for velvet, lace, and elastane.

Fill a basin with lukewarm water, no warmer than 30 °C.

Add a small amount of mild detergent for delicate fabrics.

Let the garters soak for a few minutes, then gently squeeze the fabric.

Rinse thoroughly in cold water until all detergent has been removed.

Do not twist or rub the velvet. This can flatten the pile and damage the lace.

Machine washing when necessary

If you must use a washing machine:

Place them in a laundry bag to protect the lace and metal rings.

Select a delicate cycle, max 30 °C, with a low or no spin cycle.

Use only mild detergent.

Always avoid bleach and fabric softener. They break down the elastane and can make the fabric lose its shape.

Drying & Storage
